Mountain Trading Network is a sales agency dedicated to bringing high quality ethical “outdoor culture” products to Western Canada’s mountain provinces and the US Pacific Northwest. We exclusively represent companies and producers of products that are the best at what they are designed to do, and are renowned in their industry for environmentally sustainable and socially ethical practices. We aim to connect retailers and merchants with the best ethical products made in North America, as well as excellent ethical products made by pioneering companies driving their own outdoor cultures in Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
Our Products
MTN represents the products that shape the culture and lifestyle of Western North America. Some of the products we help bring to market include: Outdoor sports and adventure equipment (summer and winter), outdoor sports apparel, timelessly styled and outdoor inspired fashion, and high quality footwear. We’re always on the lookout for North American manufacturers, as well as products from the outdoor lovers of Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

We’re dedicated to representing the companies making the no compromise on quality, ethically sound products we would want to buy ourselves. Before MTN, all too often we found great products from makers whose ethics and product were exactly what we were looking for but who weren’t reaching their potential. Our team live for outdoor culture and will represent your brand and products like they’re our own. By serving multiple ethical companies just like you, we offer merchants a united front of like-minded companies to choose from and can access merchants accustomed to large suppliers. Our passionate team and awesome software platform is at your disposal.

Our Platform
Our custom built software platform gives the makers and merchants we serve all the tools they need to get products to market. Makers can instantly see the sales we’ve made, their inventory and other sales metrics. Commissions are always fair, transparent and cost less in time, effort and money than hiring your own sales team. Merchants can talk to us by phone, in person or order on our online platform. You can view real time stock levels, pricing, and any discounts makers are offering. You’ll also know at all times what’s happening with your order – from backorder to out for delivery. Smaller producers love your feedback and act on it quickly. Have something to say about their products? We compile merchant feedback so you can shape how products evolve.
Our History
Our quest to unite people with better ethical products began in early 2012. The MTN team were initially operating independently as: a sales engineer, a pro mountain biker and a sustainability consultant. Collectively, we were drawn to the idea of getting the products we all wanted to buy to market. We decided to leverage our b2b sales experience, real-world outdoor experiences, understanding of sustainability and the passion for the outdoors to form MTN.

Skis made by bonafide ski bums, hardgoods conceived by folks that spend more time in tents than boardrooms, ethical clothing from the clothiers who make garments designed to last a lifetime, footwear crafted by the same family for generations, base layers from brands with direct links to their farmers and wool – to name a few…

Climate change is the single biggest threat to the outdoors we all enjoy. MTN’s mission is to give the retailers who love outdoor life as much as we do the chance to help protect the outdoors through the products they sell, without having to compromise on the range or quality of products they offer. Buying local is of huge benefit to a local economy and the environment. It offers retailers products more in tune with the needs of a local market, and keeps money at home. But the world has too much to offer to fence us all in. We’re also proud to support ethical and technical innovators from Europe, New Zealand and Australia – producers pushing boundaries to the benefit of an entire industry.

We’ve Hung Up Our Skis
It’s true! The MTN Team have decided to bring to a close our journey in Outdoor Industry Sales. The experience has been fantastic for all of us, but we felt the time was right to move on to other opportunities. We’ve chatted to all of the manufacturers and retailers we’ve met over the years, and thank you all for being so supportive of the next steps in our individual journeys! (we love you all!).
